From Brienzer Rothorn to Brünigpass

We start at the Brienzer Rothorn, which can be reached either by cable car from Sörenberg or by steam train from Brienz. After a short climb, the trail heads back down almost to Eisee. Now the actual ridge hike begins. An intermediate destination is the Höch Gumme at 2'204 m a.s.l. We then descend towards Schönbüel. There is a mountain restaurant here with dining options. We continue descending via Teiffengrad and Schwendi through the Brauwwald to Brünig Pass. All in all, a spectacular ridge hike with breathtaking views of Lake Brienz and the Bernese Oberland mountains. The trail is well secured and slightly trickier sections are equipped with ropes. With around 1'700 meters of descent, the hike can be tough on the knees :-)
