Ste-Croix - Aiguilles de Baulmes - Ste-Croix

The hike starts at the Ste-Croix train station and first leads out of the town in the direction of Mont de Baulmes. You slowly gain altitude through the forest and along steadily ascending paths. Along the way, the first views of the Vaud Jura landscape begin to open up.

At Mont de Baulmes, you reach the ridge and subsequently follow the trail along the crest of the Aiguilles de Baulmes. The striking limestone cliffs define this section and give the mountain its name. The Aiguilles are popular not only with hikers but also with climbers. Along the ridge, forest passages alternate with scenic sections.

The highest point of the tour is at around 1'558 m a.s.l. A particularly beautiful panorama awaits here: on a clear day, the view stretches across the Jura and Lake Neuchâtel all the way to the Alps and Mont Blanc. This scenic ridge trail is truly the highlight of the hike.

After the summit, the route continues along the ridge and then heads down into the valley. Following forest paths and a varied landscape, you head back towards Ste-Croix. Finally, you reach the train station again, where the circular hike ends.
