Circular hike from Fafleralp to Anenhütte
The hike starts at Fafleralp in the back of the Lötschental and initially leads along the right side of the valley through the pristine mountain landscape. Passing the alpine huts of Guggistafel, you soon reach the idyllic Guggisee. From here, the path continues into the valley towards Langgletscher, gradually gaining altitude.
In the final section, the ascent becomes significantly steeper and occasionally more technically demanding. The destination is Anensee at 2,367 m a.s.l., located below the Lötschenlücke. Just a few minutes away is the Anenhütte, which was newly built in 2008. Its modern architecture creates an impressive contrast to the rugged high-alpine landscape. From the hut, you have a magnificent view of the Anengletscher, the Langgletscher, and up to the Lötschenlücke.
After a break, the descent begins. The path first leads steeply down towards Lonza, the main river of the Lötschental. On the opposite side of the valley, the path then runs back out of the valley. The view of the Langgletscher accompanies the hike before finally reaching Fafleralp again via the Grundsee and the varied mountain landscape.
