Quinten - Seerenbachfälle - Amden

The hike starts in the idyllic village of Quinten, located directly on the shores of Walensee and known for its mild, almost Mediterranean climate. The car-free village can only be reached on foot or by boat. The path initially follows the lakeshore before gradually ascending into the forest. Along the way, beautiful views of the deep blue Walensee and the mountains opposite open up time and again.

The trail then becomes somewhat more demanding. The route leads uphill through steep sections in the Seerenwald. Some areas are secured with railings and handrails. After the ascent, the terrain levels out before finally leading to the Seerenbachfällen.

The three cascades of the Seerenbachfällen plunge a total of almost 600 meters down the rock face. The middle cascade, with a drop of around 305 meters, is particularly impressive. Right next to the waterfalls, the Rinquelle also emerges from the mountain. Its water originates from an extensive, branched underground cave system beneath the Churfirsten, which remains not fully explored to this day.

After this natural highlight, the path continues down to Betlis. At the chapel, there is another beautiful view of the waterfalls and the Walensee. Afterwards, the trail continues via Oberbetlis and Schöpfsagg towards Amden, where the hike ends.

The tour thus combines the Mediterranean flair of Quinten, spectacular views of the Walensee, and one of the most impressive waterfall experiences in Switzerland.
