Hiking vibes
Perhaps the most beautiful view in the Emmental Alps
The hike starts at Mettlenalp, which can be reached by bus on weekends during the hiking season. Just after the Restaurant Mettlenalp, we turn sharp left and walk past the left side of the Godelbahn. The cable car does not transport tourists. After following the cart track for a few minutes, the path branches off and leads over a small bridge. The ascent now becomes significantly steeper, while glimpses of the surrounding hills and mountains appear between the trees again and again.
After about 45 minutes, Napf is reached at 1,405 m a.s.l. The viewpoint is the highlight of the tour - and not just because of the summit. Since Napf towers high above the landscape as the highest elevation between Emmental and Entlebuch, an impressive panoramic view opens up. In good visibility, the view stretches from the Jura mountains across the Swiss Plateau to the Bernese and Central Swiss Alps.
At the summit, the Berghotel Napf invites you to take a break. In the annex, there is a kiosk with a self-checkout machine. Afterwards, the descent back to Mettlenalp begins. This time we choose the path via Änzlialp and Trimle back to the starting point, Mettlenalp.
