La Prese - Lago di Poschiavo - Miralago

The hike starts in La Prese at the northern end of the Lago di Poschiavo. First, you head through the village and then down to the lake. On the eastern shore, the trail leads directly along the water – on the opposite side of the Rhaetian Railway line. Here, the landscape is noticeably quieter and more pristine.

The path runs partly through forest and along steep rock faces. Beautiful views over the Lago di Poschiavo to the surrounding mountains open up again and again. Particularly charming are the short tunnels through which the hiking trail leads along the rocky lakeshore. The large boulders and scree slopes are evidence of a massive landslide that shaped the landscape around the lake.

The closer you get to Miralago, the more the landscape opens up again. The small hamlet is situated at the southern end of the lake and owes its name to its location with a view of the Lago di Poschiavo. The hike ends here directly at the train station, from where you can continue your journey with the Rhaetian Railway.
