Hohfluh (Riederalp) to Fiescheralp via Gletscherstube

Our tour starts spectacularly: after a leisurely ride on the chairlift up to Hohfluh (Riederalp), the imposing mountain world is already at our feet. Right at the start of the hike, the Grosse Aletschgletscher casts its spell on us. It is fascinating how this gigantic river of ice stretches through the valley for kilometres.

The varied mountain hiking trail leads us constantly along the ridge. The backdrop is simply breathtaking: on one side, the eternal firn and the rugged three- and four-thousand-metre peaks of the Jungfrauregion, on the other, the gentle rustling of the larch forests and the wide view into the Rhonetal.

After about two-thirds of the distance and a gentle descent towards Märjelensee, the culinary highlight of the tour awaits: the rustic Gletscherstube. We use this well-deserved break to refuel. We then return through the Tälligrat-Tunnel, the entrance to which is only a few metres from the Gletscherstube.

The final section finally leads us along the Höhenweg over to Fiescheralp, where this wonderful, almost 5-hour circular tour comes to an end. An absolute pleasure hike to experience the majestic power of the Swiss Alps up close!
