Hohfluh (Riederalp) to Fiescheralp via Gletscherstube

Our tour starts spectacularly: after a leisurely ride on the chairlift up to Hohfluh (Riederalp), the imposing mountain world is already at our feet. Right at the start of the hike, the Grosse Aletschgletscher casts its spell over us. It is fascinating how this gigantic ice stream winds its way through the valley for kilometers.

The varied mountain hiking trail leads us steadily along the ridge. The scenery is simply breathtaking: on one side, the eternal firn and the rugged three- and four-thousand-meter peaks of the Jungfrauregion, on the other side, the gentle whispering of the larch forests and the sweeping view of the Rhonetal.

After about two-thirds of the distance and a gentle descent towards Märjelensee, the culinary highlight of the tour awaits: the rustic Gletscherstube. We use the well-deserved break to refuel. The route then leads back through the Tälligrat-Tunnel, the entrance to which is only a few meters away from the Gletscherstube.

The final section eventually leads us across the Höhenweg over to Fiescheralp, where this fantastic, almost 5-hour circular hike comes to an end. An absolute pleasure hike to experience the majestic power of the Swiss Alps up close!
